Sometimes, change sparks the best ideas!
When our building underwent a complete modernization in 2024, we – Caroline Vater and Fabiano di Letizia – seized the opportunity to rethink and expand our concept. What started in 2017 as Chinaski Tagesbar, a hotspot for breakfast and lunch, has now evolved into Chinaski Studio & Bar – a space that delights from morning until late at night.
Our vision was to create a place that continues to deliver top-level breakfast and lunch while also offering the perfect setting for social dining, drinks, and DJ vibes in the evening.
Together with our new head chef, Jan Hoffmann – a renowned Michelin-starred chef and longtime friend – we’ve crafted an evening sharing menu that’s as creative, high-quality, and surprising as our signature breakfast.
Add to that beats, cocktails, and an atmosphere designed to bring people together. Our story is one of change, passion, creativity, and the drive to always offer the very best.

With the renovation of the building, we seized the opportunity to completely rethink not just the concept but also the design. The Chinaski Tagesbar was renowned for its iconic floral decorations – and while we’ve had to bid farewell to some elements, we’ve created a stylish design that feels cozy in the morning and sophisticated in the evening.
The fully openable window front seamlessly connects the indoor and outdoor spaces, creating a welcoming, vibrant atmosphere with a unique view directly overlooking the Alte Oper.

Jan Hoffmann
King of the kitchen
To bring our vision of a sharing menu inspired by travels to the world’s top food destinations to life, we turned to an old friend who was instantly captivated by our concept.
Jan Hoffmann, one of Germany’s most innovative chefs and a Michelin star awardee, has impressed in renowned establishments like Restaurant Amador, Villa Merton, Seven Swans, and most recently as head chef at Schloss Neuweier. With his extraordinary talent, passion for detail, and focus on sustainability, Jan Hoffmann has crafted a menu that not only delights the palate but also makes a statement.
Jan believes that great food should not only taste amazing but also be responsible. That’s why he exclusively uses the freshest, highest-quality ingredients while prioritizing sustainability. Some classics, like the beloved Avocado Poached Eggs or the Amazing Avocado Smash, have made way for new, innovative creations – like the Amazing NO AVO Smash proving it’s possible to wow without avocado. The name says it all, and the taste is an unforgettable experience.
